Air-Fuel Ratio, Oxygen, & Lambda Modules
Description:
ECM offers ten modules that measure combustion stoichiometry information (i.e. Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR), Fuel-Air Ratio (FAR), Lambda, Equivalence Ratio, and Oxygen) and output this information via Controller Area Network (CAN) communication, Serial Measurement Bus (SMB) communication, 4-20mA, or a linearized analog output.  All of ECM’s modules can be easily calibrated using ambient air.

To verify the proper operation of a module, Sensor Simulators are available.  Sensor Simulators are precision current and/or voltage output devices that attach to the module in place of the sensor(s) and simulate the sensor(s) in use.  If the module is operating correctly, these precision signal(s) from the simulators should result in expected module outputs.

LambdaCAN Modules
ECM offers three module kits (sensor(s), harness, and module) that measure stoichiometry information (i.e. AFR, FAR, Lambda, Equivalence Ratio, %O2) and output this information via CAN communication. All LambdaCAN module kits have (optional) pressure compensation (P-COMP™) which is highly recommended when the lambda sensor mounted upstream of a turbocharger, or when installed in a diesel or lean burn engine. Compact multi-channel (multi-cylinder) systems can be easily built by stacking LambdaCANs giving remarkable insight into the fueling of an engine (MCDC Kit). Optional displays (dashCAN, dashCAN2, dashCAN+) are available. dashCAN2 and dashCAN+ generate analog outputs from the CAN output.
  1. LambdaCANp: The ultimate LambdaCAN. Pressure compensation optional. Both the lambda sensor and the pressure sensor (optional) have a programmable calibration memory chip in their connector.
  2. LambdaCANd: The original LambdaCAN with pressure compensation (i.e. pressure sensor). Just the lambda sensor has a programmable calibration memory chip in its connector.
  3. LambdaCAN: The original LambdaCAN. Pressure compensation optional. Just the lambda sensor has a programmable calibration memory chip in its connector.
ECM supplies PC configuration software to set up (ex. recalibrate) the modules. This software comes with the modules and is also downloadable here. A CAN-to-USB adapter is required to use this software. ECM recommends P/N 13-02 as the adapter. If you have a Kvaser, ETAS, or Vector CAN-to-USB adapter, you can use it.

Analog Output, SMB (Serial Measurement Bus), and 4-20mA Modules
ECM offers seven module kits (sensor(s), harness, and module) that measure stoichiometry information (ex. AFR, FAR, Lambda, %O2) and output this information via analog outputs. The AFM1500, AFM1540, and FA1500 also have SMB communication. The XCM114 also has a 4-20 mA output. An optional display (DIS1000) is available. The DJET1000 kit allows integration of AFR information into a Dynojet™ dynamometer.
